I just got back from a summer course in England, studying at Oxford Brookes and while I was there, I really wanted to buy some sort of Beatles memorabilia but I couldn’t find anything! So I decided to make myself some when I got home. Tutorial below. Cheers!
What You Will Need:
- Four pillows
- Print out of stencil from artist Meredith Kresge
- Pencil
- Exacto Knife
- Tape
- Acrylic paint or fabric paint (I used acrylic)
- Paint brushes
Steps:
1. Size this picture to the size of your pillows and print. One Beatle at a time.
2. If you have multiple sheets, like me, tape them together
3. Using your knife, cut out the faces.
4. Tape the stencil onto your pillow and trace.
5. Paint within the lines!
6. When cutting out John’s stencil, create connectors to keep the shape.
7. Just do that for all of them and now you can cuddle with the Beatles!

love it! I keep forgetting to stencil <3

Let me know what you think!
Thanks for the awesome idea! I did this on a body pillow and it looks really cool. Definitely some unique Beatles memorabilia, and it’s even better that I can say I did it myself.
p.s. Though your instructions were easy to follow, it would have helped me to see how you did John’s glasses – I had a little bit of trouble!
oh sorry about that!! I have a picture! I’ll post it up now
You should credit the original artist when you pull designs from them! Everything in this tutorial suggests that you DESIGNED the pillows as well as printed them.
Because of this post, a designer will now have her artwork in random places on pillows all over the place and not only will she receive no compensation, but also no recognition.
Not cool. Original artist:

I went to college with her. Super awesome person! Deserves recognition for her work.

Thank you! I found picture on tumblr and I looked all over for the original artist but I couldn’t find her! That’s amazing that you went to school with her!
Hey, you could have at least credited the original artist for these illustrations. She’s a close friend of mine and spent a good deal of time on them.
Here’s the link to her poster with the original illustrations which has been posted for almost 3 years now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/meredithkresge/3471535877/
If you really didn’t know, it’s cool. I’m pretty sure the illustration has probably made it’s rounds on the internet by now, but a designer by the name of Meredith Kresge is the original artist and I think she should be credited.
Thank you!! As I told Kate I looked for original artist and does fully deserve the credit, she’s amazing!
